Reception (Squirrel Class) – new starters
Braywick Bear, the class mascot, has been accompanying members of the Squirrel Class staff team to visit children, parents and carers at home. Meeting staff in a familiar environment really helps the children to feel comfortable when they join us at school. It also gives us a chance to get to know children and to allow parents the opportunity to ask any questions and pass on any important information about their child. One member of staff will spend time playing with and getting to know each child, the second will be available to talk to parents or carers.
Nursery or pre-school visits are also under way so that we can speak to the children’s key workers about their journey in learning so far.
Every child will be invited to attend three Stay and Play Sessions before the summer holidays. These sessions will take place in their classroom and will give children a chance to become familiar with the environment and to make some friends.
Reception (Squirrels Class) to Year 1 (Robin Class)
Parents of children who will be starting Robin Class in September have been invited to come and learn more about what will be involved and the differences between Reception and Year 1. Our Squirrels class have also been making the most of the new Robin Class furniture to practise their writing and will have several opportunities to spend a day in their new Robin classroom.
